In June of 1937, Carr Business Machines first opened its doors for business in Great Neck. Starting out as a Victor adding machine dealer and a Royal typewriter dealer, Carr began to build a customer base of small businesses (we serviced Charles Lindbergh`s typewriter!), as well as large organizations such as Hazeltine and Kings Park State Hospital.

The following is a chronological review of the highlights of our growth over the past 60+ years:

  • In 1976, Raymond Schulman and Neil Sisselman purchased Carr Business Machines.
  • In 1983, Paul Schulman, Ray’s son, bought Neil’s share of the business, making father and son partners.
  • In 1985, Ray Schulman passed away, and Paul became the President and sole owner of Carr Business Machines. He remains an active and vital part of the business today.
